Hello ladies-- look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me. Sadly, he isn't me, but if he stopped using ladies scented body wash and switched to Old Spice, he could smell like he's me. Look down, back up. Where are you? You're on a boat with the man your man could smell like. What's in your hand? Back at me. I have it-- it's an oyster with two tickets to that thing you love. Look again. The tickets are now diamonds. Anything is possible when your man smells like old spice and not a lady. I'm on a horse.
Oh, never before have I felt the urge to memorize a commercial before as I have this one. What a wonderful commercial with a wonderful looking man on it.
Anyway, back to business. Do you ever remember random little memories from the past? I remember this one time in elementary school when we were having the spelling bee contest and how I was one of the last few people to be up on stage and I ended up spelling "atlas" wrong because I spelled it as "altas" instead. I realized after saying it that I spelled it wrong, but it was too late since you couldn't go back. So, I had to sit down. The winning word in the end that you had to spell was "chocolate" and I remember how I was thinking of how very easy of a word that was compared to atlas. I felt so very cheated. Ah, well. I wouldn't want to be in a spelling contest these days. Too many big words like "hippopotamus" and "sparkle" to trip me up. Please share any random memories you may remember, lovely citizens (by the way, that's what I'm calling all of you now: citizens.. it could be worse, right?).

hahaha its a really fun commercial!
hmmm...
when i was in high school
i use to count how many times my crush would say hi to me
and would write it down on my little doodle book
even our telephone conversations
word per word
now thinking about it it feels a little bit freaky
/ stalker-ish haha
miss you dear
kisses A.
LOL Old Spice commercial!!! I remember spelling bees, but I was never too good at spelling things out loud. Even nowadays :P For some reason, I'm better at spelling things out on paper than out loud. YOUR TIGHTS ARE SO AWESOME. I've been looking for the perfect pair of patterned white/cream tights!
I LURVE OLD SPICE COMMERCIALS. They make me chuckle like crazy.
I like your memory; atlas is TOTALLY a challenging word. Memory? HO hum, so many. Such as when I was in ballet class and I REALLY didn't want to be there and I was howling like a baby wolf. My teacher said, "Wow, Lexy! You're like an opera singer! Hahahahah."
I didn't think it was funny. I quit the next day.

I love the old spice commercials! The tights are wonderful.
Epic commercial, no joke! As for the memory, one year my friend and I got walkie-talkies as christmas gifts and we were using them in my yard, obviously using codenames. My neighbor who I had a crush on at the time came in my gate right as I was shouting through my friend's walkie-talkie " Bluebird to badger, are you there badger, come in!" I kept shouting because she wasn't responding, so I came around the front of my yard and realized that my neighbor heard the whole thing! Oh, and I was like 16 at the time! Hahaha!
I love the fact that the commercial is directed at women and not at men. that's the best part.
I love your vintage paisley tights, too cute!
Sorry you lost the spelling bee :(
when i was in 4th grade you couldn't leave for lunch until you answered a multiplication problem correctly. i was always in fear of getting something from the 7 or 9 table. or 7 times 9. Gahhh what is 7 times 9??
You really know how to style yourself.
This look is so simple and nice!
I LOVE how you paired the dark side with the delicate tights :)
I need to find some gorgeous, affordable, and durable necklaces like yours!

Your lacey tights and white pumps are perfect-o! I'd be hesitant to try the look, but you've made me rethink it. Might have to dare myself to wear it! You pull it off effortlessly.
Oh, and my spelling bee word that I went out on was "vagabond." It still haunts me.
Wowwww.. I could recall everything in that Old Spice commercial! It made me giggle in the office LOL Your post is super fun and I can see Autumn in your background! Lovely outfit! I love forever 21 too!
Have a good one! (:

Aw, that spelling bee story is such a classic kid story.
I LOVE that commercial!! And who doesn't appreciate a beautiful black man..
You look gorgeous here! Love the polkadots with the lace.
CLOTHED MUCH, a modest fashion blog
Lace and polka dots are nearly as awesome as those Old Spice commercials. And I mean, that's pretty epic stuff, I'd like to think that 99.9% of people think so. The 0.1% are unconscious and/or ill.
MAN, the spelling bee, that takes me back. Did I ever tell you that I was on the spell bowl team from 4th grade till 12th? Sad but true. And let's see, random memory-- I like telling this story where this one girl who always had some sort of vendetta against me as CONVINCED that 6 x 8 was 40. When in fact, I had fact on my side and repeatedly said "no, it's 48." But NO. It was 40.
and yes yes you did tell me that the black skinnies won't work. That's totally fine! We can choose another basic bit of clothing. What do you think? I also find it extremely flattering that your mom finds me witty. WITTY? Moi? You're too kind, Mrs. Ali's Mom. D:
Toast with Charmalade
I have never heard that commercial but it's making me curious.
I won the spelling bee in the second grade and I think I teared up when I won. So funny how important that was to me before. :)
The tights make the outfit so interesting!
Bea from A plus B
Yeah, that commercial is awesome! Love your look as well - those tights are amazing!

BEAUTIFUL! I love your top and tights! :)
Hahahaha, I love this post. I love your outfit, it's chic and classy and nice :D And I love the old spice commercial! AND I love how you describe the spelling bee contest. Over here we never had such a thing..
hhahha how funny
but this might sound weird but i hate when guys wear cologne, serioulsy i only love when gay guys do it.
the only thing acceptable for guys personally I think its pachuli which a lot of people find it disgusting.
anyways the polka dots and the skirt and the lacey tights are so adorable
you pull this off like no other
xo!
I remember when I was in grade two or something in primary school and I won with cauliflower! No one could spell it so we kept taking attempts each until...yay! :D
The Old Spice commercial with the guy on the white horse, that one?
Your outfit looks great, love the tights and the white shoes...
fab tights!
Ha, Old Spice commercials seem so old-school now but back then they were one of the most talked about. Love the pattern of the lace tights.
never thought the tights derives from your mom's wedding tight, they were excellent. love the necklace also <3
