A Caravan of Colors

______I think the main reason why I've never tried wearing a maxi dress before is because of its name and how similar it sounds to "maxi pad." I mean, surely someone else has made this connection. Surely someone else feels as uncomfortable as I do when they hear the word. Why, the last thing I think I could ever say to someone is, "Oh hey, I really like your maxi dress," because it would make me feel as if I was commenting on their personal feminine hygiene products rather than their attire. This is a normal thing to think, right? Right? Right.

______But I'm trying my best to grow out of that mindset and move on. In fact, I even believe that I've a newfound love for these ever so ridiculously named maxi dresses (though I'd much prefer to call them magical Grecian princess dresses because that's totally what this one makes me feel like). This is my first magical Grecian princess dress and I do believe that is has pushed me out of my comfort zone (in a good way!). I think this dress has made me more willing to try new styles in the future instead of always trying what I know works. Variety is the spice of life, yo.

______So, my good citizens, with that being said, I ask you this:

______Have you tried anything recently that you never thought you'd like but ended up loving (whether that be a type of clothing, a type of food, or a fine hobby such as underwater basket weaving)?

Of Mirrors and Moss

______You can totally see me and my mom in the sunglasses picture above. We are best friends forever, yep yep.

______These pictures are actually from a few days ago, but I wanted to save them so I wasn't posting too much (and I say that because anything more than two posts a week would be like, crazy frequent for me, aha). Anyway, this is what you call a "For some reason I feel like I look really sweet in most of these pictures, and so I'm going to put up lots of pictures even though I really only need like four to get the point across" kind of post. I was feelin' like a super rad cop-chick with mah Raybans on. My feelings of being cool passed within in the next few hours; it was short-lived but swell. I get these random bursts of feeling like I'm super fantastic and the most fabulous person in existence, and then other times when I feel like a term paper about how to churn butter could beat me in terms of awesomeness. But I'm sure we all get that way sometimes.

______I'm not really sure who St. Joe is, or why his name was stamped on the occasional brick with a different date underneath. Maybe he learned the secret to immortality and just kept on livin' and doing his thing. I don't know, citizens--I just don't know. I actually looked it up using ye ole Google and there's appaaarently a brick company called St. Joe, but that still doesn't explain the dates. These odd bricks with moss are odd... and mossy. I shall question these mysterious bricks and their absurd witchery no longer.

But Even Gold is Not Everything

______I didn't lie when I said I was doing some crafts. As you can see above, I made a necklace! I ventured out and bought some plastic animals from the dollar store, screwed a round hook in the top of a crab, and then painted it gold and later accented it with a little gold mixed with brown paint to give it an aged kind of vibe. Yeah, this is one ancient crab. I bet he's pretty wise. I really like how he turned out, though! The process was tedious and I think spray painting it first opposed to painting it would have made it a lot less time consuming for such a tiny project.

______In addition to making a crab necklace, I also painted a stick. Why?

______Because the other morning immediately upon waking I said to myself, "I think I'll paint a stick today." And so I did. That is why.

______I happened to have this stick lying around in my room, because I have random sticks and acorn nubs and even a few odd shaped rocks in there at all times. I tried to make this stick into a slingshot in the past because of it's perfect Y shape, but it never worked as well as I wanted it to. So instead, painting it would have to suffice--and it did, and I love my painted stick, even though I'm not really sure what purpose it serves other than filling a void in my heart.

______One more thing: though not something I crafted up, it's something I found digging through a gigantic antique mall with a friend! It's a cat box thing that kind of called out to me from the corner of a bunch of tea cups and musty old canes. I thought it was really cool, and for $2.50, I wasn't going to leave without it, no matter how chintzy it may look to someone else. I also wanted to leave with a pair of swords--a dull rapier and a katana, to be specific--but I don't think my mom would feel at ease if I possessed such savage weapons in our house.

Singing the Blues

______...So this week, I got a ton of work done, which is great because it equates to having a hopefully less stressful Spring Break! I even already finished the rough draft of my research paper on transhumanism, which is just wonderliffic and such, so yeah. I'm kind of excited because on Tuesday, my two friends are coming over and we're going to do some crafty fun stuff which I hope to share on the bloggy. We have many things planned out, and we're even going to visit some old antique shops so that we may gaze at fantastic, slightly-ancient things. Heck yeah. Ancient-stuff gazing is such a fun thing to do.

______That's really all I have to share with you for now, citizens of the Interwebs. I wish I had more to say, but alas, I do not. For this reason, I am shameful--shameful as Paula Deen would be if she didn't use butter in a recipe, ya'll.

______Peace out.

______(Do people still say that? ...No? Okay, I'll just keep using it, then. Don't mind me.)

Ali the Alligator

________Today, while taking pictures, some sketchy things happened. First, some guy in a sketchy car (aka "the sketchmobile") started driving around in sketchy circles very quickly in the parking lot next to us like he was trying to make a tornado appear or something. Sketchy. Secondly, since it was oh-so-windy (as it has been for the past two weekends, which can be quite obnoxious when trying to take outfit pictures), this statue of a life-size metal knight near us toppled over and made this loud noise that scared the crap out of mother dearest and I.

________Uhm, well, sorry to cut this post short and all, but that's really about it for this week. I have this week left and then I will have obtained the mighty Spring Break, so hay, I'll try my best to make it a nice, happy, lovely, other-words-synonymous-to-joyous kind of week. You citizens try to make it the same, ya hear?
