Far Out, Man!

Far

______What time is it, you ask?  Why, it's groovy o'clock!

Far2Far4Far5

______I unwrapped both this floaty bohemian dress and these clunky loafer platforms on my birthday.  I'm not sure how well the two go together, but heeeey, we can just pretend that mashing polar opposites looks good, in lieu of the disco era.

______These shoes have given me tons of amusement.  Besides being a blast to stomp around in, their groovy-to-the-max appearance gives me the urge to disco in place whilst doing that pointy finger thing.  Yeah, the pointy finger thing.

Far6

______To say I received an abundance of head tilts today would be an understatement; I received many, and I received them well.  The world was my oyster, and I was the shining pearl that clomped majestically above it, eradicating any person or cat or stalk of zombie asparagus who was brazen enough to hold my gaze.  I clomped on my enemies.  I clomped through the grocery store and clomped over the old lady who decided she was going to get her cheese cut before mine.  I clomped through a peanut patch and when I reached the other side, there was nothing but a field of well-churned peanut butter in my hindsight.

______I clomped most fervently and with the clomping passion of star-crossed lovers.

______I clomped vertically into the air, and clomped all the clompin' way to outer space.  I clomped on Mars and through wormholes, and I even clomped on burning white stars, extinguishing them to puffs of fresh smoke in shades of purple and grey.  I am the clomper, the conquerer, the destroyer, the giver, the all-seer.

Far11Far8
Far9

______And now I must wash my tea mugs and organize my underwear drawer, for even those at the top of the Clomp Pyramid have their mundane duties.

______Stay funky fresh, you cool, cool cats!

  1. wow, I have to find shoes that make me feel like that...and shoes that will allow me to cut in front of an old lady---hm, those would have to be some killer shoes if I know my old ladies:)

You look very pretty, love this dress, somehow very unique and at the same time romantic and simple...and the shoes...you said enough about them.

  7. Ohhh Ali... that dress is so so beautiful on you. Just stunning and perfect. And those shoes are awesome, too! I think the two actually work well together... it's like you can see time progress throughout your outfit! Pretty pretty. I think this dress should be an option for our hypothetical fairy shoot. :)

  8. Ali! You are the cutest thing ever. I laughed when I read about your clomping journey. You are a beautiful writer, girl!

Your outfit is totally gorgeous. They made nice picks! That floaty dress is so lovely--you look like a princess in it with your pretty braided updo. And of course, we can't forget your stylish clomping shoes, no siree!

    Keep clomping beautifully, Ali!

  9. I. Love. It.
You look groovier than I could ever hope to be! Those shoes are just phenomenal and have that retro vibe while still seeming unique and modern, which I feel like fits your style so well.
Plus, you always make me laugh! "groovy o clock" It sure is! You described walking in clunky heels so well too. Sometimes when I wear shoes with thick heels I feel like I'm clomping around and you put it into words so vividly. I can't imagine how people disco-ed in platforms! Not that I don't try. Because I totally do. It's just that sometimes I fall down. Meh, you know how it goes :)
And gawww that dress! Such a pretty, floaty, goddess, elven princess dress! I love the intricacy of the front panel, it really makes this special.
    Have a great day, Ali!

  15. Ali, you groovy little diva, you! You are a total boho babe! I am obsessed with your dress, and your groovy, fantastic loafers are totally drool-worthy. I love that you spent the day clomping around in them. I would totally clomp every where in those little beauties, with a few disco fingers thrown in here and there.
Have fun cleaning and clomping:) If I were you, I would totally turn on some disco music and boogie down.

  19. Birthday presents...how exciting! Happy birthday my gorgeous beautiful Ali. I particularly love your dress, you look stunning in white. I do think that the shoes and dress go well together. But you writing that made me think that so often, when I receive multiple pieces for my birthday, I am so eager to wear them all that I pair items together that I wouldn't normally...and on other days I will wear the same combination, so I have an exciting outfit that I wouldn't have thought of under normal circumstances, hope that makes sense

  30. Happy belated birthday, Ali!! Those shoes are so cool, and even cooler they made you the all-powerful clomper. I love your dress too, and I think they go together perfectly!

I love that you call it the pointy-finger thing because that is the perfect name for it. Now I'm going to refer to it as that.

You look groovy and beautiful! And should now be able to clomp to the disco and do some awesome pointy finger moves. :)
