White Collar, Navy Sleeves

Navy

______I received this dainty little navy dress in the mail from Fiigirl last week. Other than being about two inches too short in the leg region, it fits perfectly, which is surprising for me considering it has sleeves; I think that in the winter it'll be much easier to wear this dress, perhaps with some thick white leggings and tall boots. I especially like the white lace collar and the fact that the dress is lined underneath. And it's navy, duh! Navy is my favorite color to wear. I almost like wearing navy as much as I like creepily drawing people and their legging-enshrouded booties from the darkest, shadiest corner of our campus Starbucks. And man, do I enjoy a good creep session.

______I feel like this semester is gonna fly by faster than a piece of toast wrapped around a speeding bullet (clearly, I'm running low on my supply of excellent metaphors). It's already happening in a, "Help, I'm drowning, but not enough to actually drown" kind of way. It's as if a windowless, doorless room has been slowly filling with water (or blue kool-aid, to spice things up) and I'm shoving my face to the ceiling with less than half an inch of air to breathe from; sometimes the water level will lower, but more than often it will rise centimeter by centimeter as it attempts to brush the ceiling tiles with furious little ripples. Does that even make sense?

Navy

______I hope that makes sense. It took me a whole four minutes to think of such an extended comparison.

______On the brighter, sheep-infested grassy green side of life, my art teacher has nodded a "yes" to my fairy circle-esque idea from last week's post. All I've gotta do is tie the sticks together with some hemp string for portability purposes, or so that as my art teacher said, it'll become "a portable meditation station."

Ohh I love this dress (and it is short, but your legs look great). The collar and hem are so lovely, and it'll look great with tights for winter. Hang in there -- even though I'm not in school anymore, I can definitely relate to the feeling-like-I'm-drowning scenario!

leggins are just perfect for dresses that are too short...This one looks lovely on you but when it comes to sitting down you might feel as I did a few times this summer... realizing that too much is showing just in a moment when you want to look all prim and proper. btw I love collars and underlining...it really is such a cute dress.

That metaphor with the ceiling does make sense, the one with toast doesn't, but it did made me laugh as it is funny thing to imagine so I guess it works in its own way which is all it matters.

You're such a creeper...haha, I've taken to doing the same thing though. Creepers like to creeeep *_*
Haha, this navy dress is gorgeous! I love the long sleeves and how you paired it with boots. Although I feel you on the hemline...I got a dress from them too (a navy one as well if I do recall correctly) and man, I may be half Asian, but I do NOT have the height of one! Haha
Portable meditation station...it's gonna be a hit with the new age yoga fanatics... ;)

Bahaha, portable meditation station :D

The water thingy does makes sense, time has been passing by waaay to quickly for me too, guess it's because we're old :D

Adore the collar of this dress, it has kind of a granny vibe to it.

I love the lace lining peeking out from beneath the dress. It makes the cool blue navy blue looks dainty. Yes, I notice you are clad in navy blue quite often.

I've always loved your metaphors. They are so whimsical at times.

Hi Ali, you have no idea how much I love this dress! I featured something quite similar in bright blue on my blog today. Obsessed!! It looks so elegant in navy, really posh outfit! I have something to confess to you...I really thing your forte lies in writing, because you are brilliant at it (cute metaphors and all!) Coming from that industry I think You should seriously consider taking up writing as a profession. Hope you have a wonderfully relaxing weekend!

Haha I totally got you with the kool aid room metaphor ;) You always have the best ways of explaining things! This dress is seriously gorgeous!! I'm obsessed with that collar and the little booties and socks you paired it with. Yes, it's pretty short but with your mile long skinny little legs, why not?
P.S. I totally went in Altr'd state while staying at my Dad's apt last fall in Alabama :)

This is the perfect dress. You look so beautiful in navy blue and the lace and the collar are so beautiful. I always wish there were more dresses around like this with lovely statement collars.

Oh you KNOW I am all about that dress! Navy is the best 'neutral' in my book. I love to wear it as well, and I love the unique cut and tailoring of this dress especially. Just a win all around :)
Haha, do you just have a notebook full of metaphors you've been saving up? Because you always make me smile with envious delight at your writings.
And I hope classes start slowing down a bit for you! I remember how swamped I felt at college too and it can be quite unrelenting. Thinking of you!

Yikes! you sound overwhelmed Ail, I hope you make it through the semester okay, and don't become overtaken by blue kool-aid. I mean, it could at least be navy blue, so if you have to drown, it's in your favorite color.

Ali, you look so pretty! I seriously love that hairstyle, and that is such a great picture of your hair! And no wonder you love navy, you look so good it it! That's a very pretty dress and collar!

I love that you creep in Starbucks to draw people, signs of a true artist. I love people watching too!

School does get difficult, although my classes aren't too hard this year. Good luck with yours, and hope you do very well! :)

Maybe I will have to make one of that style :) (Thinking of another future project now!!) I love the little bit of lace peeking under the bottom and the Navy suits you wonderfull!

Also, I can not possibly tell you how wonderful your comments were on my post with the wedding photos- but it was incredibly sweet and complimentary, goodness girl, you are the best! Thank you! I totally adore you!

Have a lovely day and good luck on that fairy-esque ring :) It sounds magical!
