Business Time

Business Time5

_____I used to not be a big fan of blazers, but I quickly learned to appreciate their classiness after getting my hands on this one.  My dad gave me a gift card for Valentine's day and I spent it on this blazer and another one, plus a pair of sheer patterned tights that I remembered seeing Lyddie wear (because as we all know, I am slowly attempting to suck out Lyddie's soul and become her continue to be inspired by her).  Buying those things broke the self-imposed shopping ban I've been on for nearly three months, but it originated from a giftcard, so does it really count?  I think not.  Thus, the shopping ban continues, and with the strength of a steroid-infused pro wrestler.

_____I also wanted to take a moment to thank you all--some you guys' comments on my last drawing made me smile so much!  So much, in fact, that flowers grew from my face.  You think I jest, but I do not.  Literally, flowers sprouted from my face--roses, poppies, hydrangeas, and even a few daisies.  I had a flower beard upon my face, a tiny green garden of loveliness.

_____Well, not really.  What I'm getting at is that I'm quite flattered by you lovely people.  I'm not as hesitant about posting artsies on my blog anymore, and it's all thanks to you guys' kind words.  I know that art is pretty much my thing and major, but still, it can be mentally difficult to post it, even if it's not posted that frequently.  However, I've definitely become more comfortable posting it, and I'm just quite happy to know that you guys are okay with that.

_____So, yeah! If you ever have any little ideas or things you'd like to see me draw, throw 'em at me! I enjoy drawing some weird things sometimes so don't be shy.  I'm shy, but that doesn't mean you should be.  Two shy people just don't go well together, kind of like a mustard, blueberry, and cottage cheese sandwich wouldn't go well together.  I hope that didn't put a weird taste in your mouth.  It put a weird taste in mine.  I'll leave you be now.

The way you write put a smile on my face:) Anyway, I really like the outfit, I've blazer craze (if that is a word)...I think the shopping ban is a great idea, it can make you more creative, that's my experience anyway...I've read this article in German Vogue last year about two girls who have done it for about a year and it sounded great. Usually I'm hopeless with German but since English is invading all the languages and taking over the world I think I got what they were saying.

I don't have a shopping ban but I've noticed that I rarely shop for clothes...these days I mostly hunt shoes and just rely on what I have.

What a lovely blazer indeed! I am a HUGE fan of blazers, in fact I am having a blazer link up party on Friday! I love Lydia. I am inspired by her outfits and photography all the time. Your oxfords are super cute too.

I guess I'd better watch out! I think blazers are great, especially ones in bright fun colors and don't even feel very business-y at all.

Plus shopping without spending money doesn't count. And sometimes shopping while spending money doesn't count either. Which is I'm going with at the moment.

Love it when you share your art, you are so talented!

So could we make a special button on your blog titled "Drawing Requests"? Because I would totally fill it to the brim with some ideas for ya :D
Haha, and ah man, I used to be into blazers, but that attraction burned out sadly. Although seeing you in this gorgeous pink one could reignite it...then again, anything you wear would cause sparks to fly! ;)
Yaaaaaaay! Cute and tough? That comment made my day! I used to just be cute, and now that tough is thrown in there, I know I'm achieving exactly what I want in my outfits. Thank yooouuuu!! :D

Ahhh, you look so chic! I love the bright pink mixed with the darker hues.
And I had no idea that you were on a shopping ban! That takes a lot of determination. I don't think the purchase counts either since it was a gift card haha. I've been doing the same every year for Lent, so it's cool to know that someone else is with me!

Ali, you always look so beautiful in rich, jewel tone colors. Maybe because you ARE a jewel. See what I did there?

But gift cards are the perfect solution to shopping bans. They're what keep us sane. I can't wait to see the other blazer you picked up as well as your patterned tights!!!

so how how how do you even THINK of a mustard blueberry and cottage cheese sandwich. i'm still laughing. it kills me really. and i think you shoudl draw yourself with this flower beard personally. i'd appreciate the image.

and i'm a big fan of blazer, indeed, this one is classy. when i have business stuff, i just wear a blazer with one of my dresses (like my elephant dress...that actually happened...) and voila. business version of me. kind of! and a gift card definitely doesn't count against the shopping ban! Those shoes are glorious, by the by, i want a pair like them.

and you know how you feel about lyddie is how we all who read your blog feel about you :D you've got crazy great taste.

I need this blazer in my life. It is so pretty and fits you perfectly! Ali, stop dressing so fantastically, or I'm going to steal your wardrobe!!!!!

As for your amazing artwork, someday I am going to come up with the most brilliant idea ever and make a drawing request. Knowing me, it will probably be cray cray ridiculous, so be prepared :)

Shopping ban!? What is this "shopping ban" you write about..I don't think such a thing exists O_o Seriously though, blazer looks uber cool, not to mention the glossy flats you're wearing, I want to steal them!!! :D

Gorgeous girl! I love how bright your blazer is and those oxfords are super cute too :)

What a phenomenal cut on the blazer! It is so unique and full of personality-I love that it comes up a bit in the back. Plus that color is one of the prettiest ever created, for sure. Way to go not shopping for a while! I've been trying to do the same, but it's more difficult than I anticipated. Also, I can't put this comment to rest without saying YOUR SHOESSSS. They are lovely and shiny and I love them. One of the best things about your style is that you wear simple pieces with special details. Very inspiring to me :)

Please please please post a photo of your flower beard. This could be the next trend. For real!

I love this blazer on you. You look snazzy and classy all at once.

Girl, I am in love with that blazer and those shoes! I've also really enjoyed going through your illustrations. They remind me of advanced coloring books in the 90s, which were as insanely beautiful as they were intricate. I miss those like crazy (being in my 20s clearly hasn't eradicated that child in me)!

That blazer is so cute! I love the color and you look so chic! Haha I should probably go on a shopping ban myself, but I don't think I would be able to, I don't have the strength of a pro wrestler on steroids. :(
