Tread Lightly

Tread R1Tread8

______Hi, folks! Today I don't have any riveting tales pertaining to seductive salesladies to tell you about... or any other nutty people encounters at that.  It's a darn decent day for a quick post, don't you think?

______My mother and I are at home by ourselves (and our brat of a dog, Gunner) babysitting the house this week whilst my brother and dad roam the northern badlands of Montana and the Dakotas.  With a week of no male influence ahead of us, my mother and I have turned to our femininity to cure our boredom, indulging in girly activities such as dining at healthy little lunch spots, partaking in the occasional shopping trip, ogling over pretty lipsticks and cute shoes, and not discussing cars or hunting gear.

______We snapped these pictures earlier this morning before a raincloud bursted open and rained its fury upon us.  The light was streaming through the leaves and washed my pictures a toxic greenish-orange that makes me wanna transform into the Hulk and smash things, but I suppose it also kind of provides a calming sense of immersion into nature.  I'm just not used to seeing myself with mossy green highlights in my hair and a purple-orange tint to my skin.

I think your pictures look great! As a wife and mother to two boys, I think an all girls week sounds awesome! Your dress is SO PRETTY!!! I love how you grounded it, though, with the cute booties. Enjoy your bon-bons and chick flicks!

Something about outdoor lighting and where you're at that can really skew your photos, huh? I've hit locations like this where the lighting is just WEIRD. However, I like the change of scenery, and being out in nature is always nice :)
I lerrrv the socks and boots combo with your delicate dress! So cool :D
Also, haha, if I ever become an anchorwoman, you'll be the first to know. That'd be so cool *_*

I didn't mean to get on your blog. I signed into blogger to check something, and your blog just peeked at me. so congrats on mkaing me unproductive right now :D

well, this is productive, right?

BUT

THESE ARE AMAZING. ohmygosh the light. you're like a disney pixie. I secretly (now not so secretly) think you'd be a great Disney princess actress. Like for Cinderella?

And I love momma/daughter time. The best.

I live really far away from my dad and brother and never see them and I kind of miss hearing about football and cars and junk like that. I think all I need is to hear it one last time and I'll be set for life. Have fun! Your pics look great!

I went for coffee with a good friend of mine a few days ago and we spoke about wearing boots/booties in the summer and how the thought of it always makes me cringe. I think it's one of my fears. Not kidding! lol But...now seeing this lovely outfit of yours is making re-think my position and give it a shot at wearing booties with a girly cute dress like yours. Might not be that bad after all!

You pretty lady, you!

Sigh...this post is so dreamy. I'm absolutely in love with these boots and this dress. The contrast between the two. I'm such a fan of feminine dresses with tough accessories. Ugh, can I just be you?

Your white lace dress is so beautiful and perfect for every season! A simple dress like this would be great to layer with scarves and tights for fall :) I love your bracelets, too!

A mother and daughter time together sounds so girly. Your pictures look wonderful. I don't think the rain spoilt anything about your hair and skin at all.

Aghhh, I need to follow my blog feed more closely. I can't believe I didn't see this gorgeous post earlier!

I totally swooned when I saw these photos--the forest is so beautiful with the golden lighting. I feel you when you say you don't like the color balance changes though. Haha, I'm super picky too! But I think you look absolutely ravishing in your pretty-meets-edgy look! That white dress is simply love and your bold boots add a certain punch. Your hair is always perfect and I love the cute little embellishment/jewel type things in them hehe!

It's kind of nice just to be with your mom, isn't it? Haha it always seems that way though--when you get the opportunity to be girly and such, you end up doing the complete opposite! I'm exactly the same way.

Have a beautiful weekend, dear Ali!

Ah yes, weather can so affect photos. I spend most of my time scoffing at how washed out or dark my photos are (mostly because I'm too lazy to use my camera on any setting but auto...).
How fun that you and your mama get some girl time! I had two sisters and no brothers so girl time was all I knew until I got married. Boy was that a change! haha.
These photos are absolutely lovely. That is like a modern fairy princess dress and you always accessorize your outfits impeccably. I thought your necklace and earrings were a set! How amazing that you found two pieces which matched so well together.
Also I should tell you, I took a road trip with one of my friends this past week, and she was asking me about bloggy stuff because she's fascinated by it. We spent a good ten minutes just talking about you and your awesomeness. All of your stunning beauty aside, you really leave the funniest, most sincere comments every day and I'm so glad we're bloggy friends :)

Sounds like a good week! All girls week is so fun, haven't had one in a while but wish I did. I love eating at little lunch spots and shopping :)

I always love it when no one is home but my mom and I and we too indulge in fun girly things, eat out and shop and get manni/peddis. Good times.

This little white dress is so cute, and I really love the chevron pattern woven into the knit.

You look gorgeous as always Ali! You and your mom remind me of me and my mom, we do girly things all the time, she is the one I can thank for me being such a girly girl! Haha my dad isn't into hunting though, he's into cooking, and he's very good at it.

I love your dress, and oh my gosh, I seriously just want to be able to do something cool and beautiful like that with my hair, but I am just not talented enough, haha.

These pictures are so whimsical and inspiring, I love them!:)

Love the feminine dress with those awesome boots, the perfect mix of girly and grunge. Thanks for your kind visit...wish you well for the rest of the week!

Ahhh Ali, words can not even describe how lovely these photos are! You just look so absolutely gorgeous (like you are in your natural setting ;) with all of the beauty of the trees and the Earth all around you...so timeless, beautiful and ethereal.

I love how you talk about the girl time with your mom and being free from males..haha! "no talk of hunting" love it. I really like Tuesday nights because those are my mother daughter nights with my mom- we go to yoga class together and get a bite afterwards. So nice to have that girl time in the beginning of the week. :)
