Bear Legs + BornPretty!

Bear Legs

______BornPretty sent me over some items last week, and I'm giddier than a gaggle of geese to finally wear 'em. Firstly, these adorable bear tights, which are surprisingly tall enough for my stature and also much thicker and more durable than expected! Putting them on stirred my inner schoolgirl, so I just went with it. I suppose once you immerse yourself into the anime world, you just can't escape it. It's a black hole you fall into with unclimbable sides that are most likely covered in slippery, buttery ramen.

______Secondly, they also sent me some divine crown earrings. To keep my spirits high and confident, I imagine I'm a queen and that everyone else in my world is a peasant, so they're rather fitting.

______I had a productive week. Slammed an art history paper though the hoop, froze my fingers with multiple chilly morning bike rides, viewed Tekkonkinkreet (experimental anime movie, whut!) with friends at a friend's house, finished drawing over two monoprints, and got on track with my final Drawing Concepts project. To top it all off, I survived my Bachelor of Fine Arts review, where I set my more recent art in a room and discussed it with art and art history faculty members. They strolled around and discussed my art, influences, process, what I'm moving toward, etc, before casting their vote as to whether or not you should be accepted into the BFA program. It was surprisingly enlightening and I rubbed eyeballs and exchanged excellent conversation with many teachers I hadn't met.

Hi Ali, i have missed you...how have you been? Great to hear about the success of your week, thats a lot done with excellent progress. How cute are these tights, I haven't ever seen something like them worn before, they bring a smile to my face. I like the preppy school uniform type of look, very chic. And the earrings are truly pretty. Have an awesome weekend hun!

Yay! I'm so glad you had a productive week. Mine has been less-than-school-productive which means I'm stressing out big time now. Oops.

But anyway, I love love these tights and how you played up the schoolgirl feel in this outfit. Hooray for that top we both own. I seriously need to wear it more often. I may have to pair it with my maroon skater skirt that's kind of like yours here because this looks so cute!

Those tights are SO SO cute! I have been wanting a pair like them but a lot of them I've seen are one size fits most type deal so I've been a bit wary! But, you may have just convinced me to give them a shot! Loving the schoolgirl vibes :)

Yaaay, Ali still loves me! :')
Haha, I knew you did, although I have missed your clever little comments here and there. Sounds like you've been super productive in life though, and that's definitely more important than bloggy land. Haha, that sounds like a great experience to have discussing your art with other teachers. I bet it was enlightening!
Omgsh, I cannot get over these fantastic bear tights! :D They make me smile just to see. Hehe, so RAD

You have been accomplishing a lot in your absence to the blogging world. I think whatever you are doing sounds really promising and I hope that you would be accepted into the BFA program.

The bear tights look really cute on you and as usual I love all your description and analogy of falling into the abyss of the world of anime and how you imagined yourself as a queen. You always make me laugh. Slippery buttery ramen!

Eeee, this look hits all the sweet spots! It's cute--THOSE TIGHTS--and princessy--the earrings!--and overall aesthetically perfect. You get an A+! (and yes I'm using academe-speak because you rocked your school stuff :)

Eeee! Those tights are cuter than a bug's ear (er, a bear's ear I suppose?). They look just so fun on you. I am glad you had a week that was full of business AND fun! That always makes for a winning combination. How great that you got to show off your work and talk about it with others. I bet it was so rewarding to do that in front of teachers and peers. Hope you're having a splendid weekend lovely!

Ah, what adorable tights! I'm so jealous. You would get along so well with my friends--it sounds like you like anime quite a bit and they're absolutely obssessed haha. The black hole with ramen you mentioned is too cute. And I totally agree--I never really got into anime, but Asian dramas really can suck you in!

But you look absolutely lovely--that top is perfect with those bear tights and the red skirt is such a cute pop of color.

Glad to hear that your review went well and that you had a productive week. Hope this one will be another one!

I haven't read your blog in ages! It's nice to see you again (virtually). Glad to hear the art show went really well. I'd love to see what you've been doing there. :)
I really like the anime look. I used to have a Japanese sailor moon style top I sewed myself but grew out of. Just makes you feel majorly cute. You definitely could be an anime character with that look.
