Forest Filled with Leaves

AutumnAutumn

______Now that it's autumn, I'm ready for all sorts of saucy new happenings.  I'm ready for cape-like sweaters, snazzy tights, and combo-breaker layering combinations. I'm ready for copious amounts of tea, those horrid frozen fingers I get from frosty bike rides, and snuggly burrito blankets. Autumn has always been my favorite season, maybe because of the beauty of decaying leaves or the banishment of humidity and welcoming of crisp, fresh air.

______Nextly--you guys are always so nice to ask about me (especially considering how awful I've been at commenting on blogs... I'm observing and reading and soon getting to it, I promise!)! I went to my doctor's appointment last weekend and the lady told me that it was basically-probably-mostly from stress. She has put me on probiotics to get good bacteria inside my gut, and has me on a pretty bland diet where I avoid raw nuts, dairy products, and many fruits. So basically, I'm dining caveman style on chicken, sprouted grains, and vegetables for a while. I have been feeling a bit better, so let's hope the situation improves! Intenstinal power!

______Oh. And I never gave out Halloween candy as a snazzy, fishnet-wearing 80-year old or Sailor Moon. As many of you saw on the funky Facebooks, I opted for French Renaissance artist Simon Vouet, but just ended up resembling a caricature of a sketchy French man. And thus, I was indeed "Sketchy French Man." Hon, hon, hon.

______One kid shouted that I had a good beard as I left, a little girl in a princess costume stared at me as she slowly hobbled away (probably in fear), and I even had a short conversation with one kid:

______"What are you supposed to be?"
______"A man, I think."
______"Oh. You are a very pretty man."

______You know what? Kids are all right.

LOL Gotta love kids! I'm sure you were a very pretty man! And I am glad that you are getting the health things handled. It is insane how crazily stress can put a toll on your body. Try to take it easy love with plenty of yummy tea!

Love the tights + shoes, but hate the 80-year-old prostitute joke and am disappointed to see it showing up in another post. Sex workers aren't fodder for caricatured costumes--they're real people with real jobs who are regularly murdered and routinely denied basic labor rights, neither of which is funny at all.

I've been dying for some dotted tights, and yours look fab! Also, your hair is gorgeousss like that! I definitely enjoyed talked to some kiddos this Halloween as well, haha. I know I'm getting old because I genuinely think "kids just say the darndest things!"

I really appreciate your reaction to my comment! Thank you so much. I hope I wasn't too hostile and seriously, it's so wonderful when someone on the internet proves themselves to be mature and positive! (Inspiration for my own behavior. Meep.) I look forward to continuing to read your blog and seeing the cute outfits you put together :)

Cue me rolling on the floor giggling about this. Hahahahaha! Oh man, that is too funny. I loved what you dressed up as Ali, you certainly rocked that mustache ;)
Oh dear, stress is such an awful thing. Its hitting my immune system now, and I'm coming down with a flu because of it. Ughhhhh, I'm ready for this semester to be over!
Anyway, I'm falling in love with fall myself. Definitely the changing leaves, crisp air, and appeal of getting to layer that makes it such a lovely season :) I vote we just stick with fall and skip winter altogether!

Oh, Ali! That's hilarious. You just gotta love kids. And that costume is so great. You make a lovely French man haha.

As for your stomach, I'm so sorry to hear that it was stress-induce. I'm totally feeling it though--sometimes there comes a point when you have so much to do that you don't want to do any of it! I'm glad that you're feeling a little better though (:

As for your outfit, I love this color combo! The deeper red and navy is very fall and the woods is an exquisite setting. Yay to fall!

Have a great week, dear Ali!

Glad to hear you are slowly starting to feel a bit better.

Those tights are awesome and I love the hi-lo, dramatic dip of the sweater's hemline over the equally dramatic red color.
