The Final Stretch + Firmoo

Burgundy + Firmoo
Burgundy + Firmoo

______I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me.

______*swoops in from a rope that descends from the heavens, all whilst donning a black cape and mask that's rather reminiscent of Wesley's attire from The Princess Bride*

______You haven't. I don't plan on leaving the blog world until I'm the wrinkliest old lady in the universe, more wrinkly than an old man's butt cheeks covered in saran wrap. I hadn't realized the extent of my sparse posting until recently. When you're constantly getting fabric pieces, ink, and greasy oil paints all over your clothes, you don't really want to dress lovely, and that art-making flourishes profusely on the weekends, too! I never really want to write up a post unless I put my heart and soul into it. And those take a while to grow back once you harvest and concoct a post from them, you know.

______But in just a week, I shall be able to put my feet up, snuggle with my bearded dog, work on projects at my own pace, and bake a garbage truck-full of cookies. The amount of sugar and butter that will be consumed by the Hval family in the next few weeks will be as shameful as it will be awe-inspiring.

______Firmoo sent me over some spankin' new glasses that make me feel like the lovechild of a turtle and a well-traveled photographer, and I couldn't be happier. I find it incredible that I can receive glasses from online and see better with them compared to ones prepared in "real life." These don't give me that dizzying feeling that larger, rounder frames usually do; it's difficult for me to find those that don't make me feel like I'm a drunk goldfish looking through a twisting, warped world. It's a strange thing to try and describe, but imagine looking through a fisheye lens constantly. Some glasses do that, but these don't, which R00LZ.

______Yeah, I turned my O's into zeroes. That's how c00oo000ol people handle things and stuff in an adult-like manner.

______But yeah, These also came extremely quickly, which is always a plus. Firmoo hasn't disappointed yet! I hope you all are getting into the holiday spirit: decorating cookies, stringing lights about your homes, and sticking reindeer antlers on your car, even though you usually end up forgetting you ever did, rolling your window down, and losing one of them. Sad trumpet noise.

A Pioneer of Paisleys + Firmoo Review

DuskyDusky

______Firmoo, an online glasses company that I'm sure many of you have heard of, sent me over a pair of prescription glasses, and just in time, because I tossed my last pair of contacts the other day. Now I can live in these for a few days until I decide to crack open a new box o' eyeball lenses...

______I really enjoy the color and size of these, though. Nice and sturdy too. Excellent for accidentally falling asleep in. I usually go for black glasses because then they're more apparently nerdy, but these tortoise ones have a pinch of class to them that black lacks. Not so harsh, either. I like 'em lots. Firmoo now offers a way to try on glasses virtually by simply uploading a straight-on view of your face, which super helpful since a photo isn't always the best indicator or size and shape and such. In addition, with their First Pair Free program, you can get yourself a pair for nothing!

______I spent this past weekend cutting a bajillion (okay, more like a hundred) squares. These art classes, man. Makin' me think in all sorts of weird new ways. Rather than working on something ginormous, I've been passing the time squabbling with swatches of fabric. By fabric, I mean my bedsheets. Sorry, mom.

______Other than that, I've been feeling pretty ajdhakjsdsdfgdsf;; (yes, you read that correctly--I have been feeling keyboardsmash). Whenever I eat, my stomach ends up hurting, burning, or cramping in some manner, almost like there are two miniature martians inside me battling fiercely for whatever food ends up in there. That's the cutest and least miserable description I can whip up of the situation. I've got a doctor's appointment scheduled on Halloween, which is great since that means I'll (hopefully) be diagnosed with something soon, but at the same time, that's a whole week away, and I kind of wish I could be feeling better now!

Red-y Or Not, Here I Come + Firmoo Review

MJ3MJ9

______Firmoo recently contacted me to participate in their Model Programme and sent me two pairs of glasses to feature here on the blog--both which are excellent in both quality and style, as they have been in the past.  I've learned that you can never have too many glasses, just as you can never have too many oxygen molecules.  Because really, what's life without oxygen molecules and glasses?  Nobody wants to be a zombie who can't see clearly--how would you eat brains?  You'd probably end up eating a tree, thinking it was a human, and that would be pretty awful for your zombie self.

______Thankfully, I don't have to worry about being a blind zombie, for my prescription in these glasses is spot on; thus, I can merrily smash these glasses on my face knowing they'll let me see.

______Those are the new pair of Jeffrey Campbell oxfords that my dad bought me a few weeks ago for scrambling about campus, and I'm glad to finally get them up on the blog!  Even after a day of running around like a decapitated chicken, these are still comfortable.  Plus, when I wear these, random people shout at me telling me how cute and adorable they are (and appropriately so).

______Oh, and along with the prescription glasses, the second pair of eyewear which Firmoo sent me were these pretty little sunnies.  They're quite sturdy and the shape of the glasses are perfected rounded and lovely.  The subtle gradient on the lenses is like a terracotta sunrise, so purply-orange and fantastic.

______Sorry to cut this post so short, but I've been as busy as a gold-sniffing pirate on the seven seas trying to finish the semester up.  I've got two more weeks until I'm all done--half of me is ready to get things over with, but the other half doesn't really care about the heat of summer and lazing around doing practically nothing all day.

______Though I will be taking a Biology II course twice a week and working at our neighborhood pool, I'll still have plenty of free time.  I feel so much more productive at college, and so to keep that productivity in full gear, I'll have to chalk up some ideas for art projects this summer, train an army of attack pigeons, and take over a tiny and uninhabited island.  Those three things are totally related.

______Summer 2013, here I come?

Hey, Mickey! + Firmoo Review

Mickey5Mickey3Mickey2Mickey10MickeyMickey6

______Firmoo contacted me once more asking me to participate in their nerdy glasses promotion... and so of course I had to accept!  Nerdy style glasses are quite adorable and anyone can pull them off, plus they can be dressed up or down.  These prescription glasses came very quickly and I can see through them just perfectly!  It's funny--I've tried to get some nerdy prescription glasses before in real life, but even after going in and getting them fit and such, they never were able to make me see clearly... and yet these, some glasses from the Internet that I never even tried on, somehow magically work perfectly.  Hands down, these are pretty rad.  When function and style combine as they did with these glasses, harmony is the result, and birds sing, and the hills become alive with music, and ice cream rains from the heavens and all the people in the world become joyous (except for those who are lactose intolerant).

______Anyway, I haven't been disappointed yet by Firmoo, and if you're looking to get some adorable nerdy glasses for yourself (or y'know, just some other supa stylish ones), you can get your first pair for free.

______This sweater is actually my mom's from back in the day--it's kind of the most comfy sweater in the world, and the fit is just the perfect amount of bagginess, and I'm amazed it hasn't made it's way onto my blog yet since I wear it so much.  I especially love how the sleeves are so long and floppy--they're perfect for carrying hot tea, or more importantly, for furiously whacking people who deserve it.

______Recently, Firmoo contacted me and asked if I would be interested in doing an honest review in exchange for a pair of their eyewear--of course, I jumped at the idea!  It didn't take but a few days for these lovely sunglasses to arrive, and when they did, I was more than impressed with them.  The quality of these beauties is high, and they're nice and sturdy and don't feel like they're going to break if I toss 'em around a bit.  And just in case you couldn't tell, they're kind of sort of super attractive.  Seriously, there's something about the way the light looks on these lenses that sets them apart from other sunglasses I have.  I'm quite fond of these shades, and will be merrily channeling my inner John Lennon with them both now and in the future.

Black Velvet8

______So, my lovely followers, if you're interesting in getting either some prescription or non-prescription eyewear that's good quality but won't break the bank, take a look at www.firmoo.com.  In fact, they've got a program going on right now where you can get your first pair of eyeglasses for free, meaning that all that you have to pay is shipping!  They've got great customer service and will reply quickly to any questions you may have.  I would definitely recommend them!

______Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and listen to Mr. Lennon's Imagine while peacefully swaying side to side. Au revoir, my delicate citizens.
