Little Red Riding Boots

______My mom and I take most of my outfit pictures at this visually pleasing elementary school that's located in a small town five minutes away from our house. Today, this said town was bustling with activity since there was a Spring Festival type event taking place. A sea of tents flooded the town square's streets, filled with goods made by local artisans. There were jewelry makers, wood carvers, fudge sellers, baked good makers, and booths filled with everything in between. Some of the things being sold were silly (Auburn and Alabama football themed tutus, anyone?), while others were super neat and original. It's so amazing that such a quaint little town can become so alive and crowded almost overnight!

_____There were three booths that really stuck out to me. The first was a lady who made earrings, necklaces, and cuffs from vintage brooches and old glass pieces; I would have bought something from her, but I just can't justify buying a $38 pair of earrings in my head, even if it means  supporting a local artist. The second was a guy who made jewelry from old watch parts and bullet casings; again, the prices were what stopped me from making a purchase.

_____The final booth was staffed by a guy and his wife who were selling old matchbox cars and then these slightly larger model cars. I initially approached this booth wanting to buy my older brother a Jeep matchbox car, but upon asking learned that there were none; however, I asked if they had any Volkswagen beetle bugs, and lo and behold, they had three vintage Volkswagens models. Two had some rather boisterous looking hippie flowers on their sides, but the third was a classy looking red one. That one caught my eye, probably because it gleamed in the sun like a darling little candy apple. I asked how much it was and learned that it was only three dollars. Of course I'm going to buy a tiny wind-up bug for tres dolorés. The doors on it even open. Yeah. It's legit and adorable and I like it. Spontaneous purchases are the best.

______Here is little redbug sitting ever so picture-perfectly on the steering wheel of the beetle bug that I am lucky enough to call my own and drive around in. It's my dream car and I'm totally living the American dream because of it. Hope your weekend is going just swell, lovely readers!

I kind of feel like red boots are one of those essential non-conventional pieces that I now need to have...

I love how you have the belt over the cardigan! Whenever I try that, I look very disproportional...And the red boots are so cute and bright! So is the car, I like how in the picture, the car is the only thing with color.

Okay, I'm seriously crushing on your little red boots Ali. You utilized neutrals to put the spotlight on them too! Haha, love this look on you.
And oooh, sounds like a fun event. I know, the local artists kind of jewelry are always expensive -_- I definitely couldn't bring myself to spend that much for just one pair of earrings!
Although you scored with the cute little Volkswagen bug! :D Haha, and you drive one too? Lucky girl!
By the way, thanks again for your awesome comments ;)
I love having a reader who actually reads what I post! Haha, appreciate it girl :)

Pretty lady! Those red boots are so so perfect!
That spring fair sounds like so much fun. I love craft fairs! Though, I often have trouble spending money on stuff too, even though it's local artists that are making it. But that little red bug! How cuuuuute!

The colour of your boots is perfectly intense, almost a wine colour in some photos. It's my perfect boots.. except that it's suede? I like suede and all but sometimes you want to wear it but you just KNOW it's going to rain (ok, you don't 'know', you just saw the weather report)

I know what you mean about expensive handmade stuff. Once my friend took us to see a glassblower make a vase - we watched him for nearly an hour and by the end of it we're like.. yup we're broke but we just HAVE to spend $25 on these tiny glass blown stud earrings because we saw the whole process of him making the vase. But it probably took him 2 minutes to make our earrings.

Yup, these are the boots you were talking about, huh?
I remember them! Haha, and I'd love to see how else you'll be styling them ;)
Glad I can provide some ideas! Haha
