Sparrow Keeper + DressVenus

Sparrow
Sparrow

______This dress, this lemon-y-licious cape, and these rings were all courtesy of DressVenus. When they bestowed a generous budget upon me to shop around with, instead of plucking items of no relation, I opted for creating one mad interwebular ensemble. DressVenus has webpages upon webpages full of wholesale clothing and accessories, and I had more fun than a fly in poop farm browsing them all. This dress has a darling sparrow pattern and is woven from a hefty fabric that will last for years to come. This cape is the perfect shade of mustard and has an addictive swinging motion to it, though the buttons could have been sewn on with more than one strand of string. Nothing I can't fix! Except for that one button I lost in our driveway after leaping 007-style into the backseat of my dad's truck. Whups.

______For a while there, I was unsure if my order had gone through--I hadn't received any e-mails back about the sponsorship when I sent my order number over, but then a month and a half later, everything had arrived in the mail. I e-mailed the folks and they were quick to reply after I noted that I had received my items, but the lack of communication in between made it a tad unsettling.

______And now to Ali with the weather. Oh wait, she's already speaking...

______....On to Ali with the weather, anyway!

______(stop talking in third person, you twerp!)

______Gosh, you could be nicer about it.

______Spring has finally sprung, my precious little pecans, and it's as refreshing as it is blinding. I'm not used to all this sunshine and all this mucky green clover stuff that's crawling all over the ground and in the crevices of sidewalks. I'm also not used to seeing all these campus dweebs and dweebets sporting Nike shorts without pairing them with their trusty leggings and Ugg boots. Most of all, I'm not used to having the air infested with those foul, winged creatures we call wasps, those dainty creatures we dub butterflies, and of course, those delectable and elusive creatures that we know as the toastflies.

______Just kidding. Toastflies only spread their wings in autumn. You knew that.

______Oh! And as if this post wasn't haphazard enough, I'll letcha know that I'm also over at Lily's blog this week while she's on her social media fast--check it out for a compelling backstory that humorously illustrates the creation of this blog.

Its remarkable how quickly things can change from winter to spring - though I'm still waiting, we did have a little taste this weekend!

I love the sparrow print dress and bright yellow pairing! You never know with these overseas shops, but at least the items did eventually arrive.

Spring already for you?! The snow hasn't stopped yet here. Sad face. Your write up made me think of this one summer my city had a terrible grasshopper problem. They were huge and literally everywhere! And they would fly into you. I definitely don't miss that about summer.

And you are looking fancy schmancy, dear! That cape looks smashing on you and I love how your little socks match!

Beautiful photos! Love your style.

I love the cape!! But you're making me a bit jealous with this talk of Spring!

This is the happiest yellow I have ever seen! Love the cape matching the socks, and those shoes of yours always make me swoon! I hate it when you are trying to work with a company and you like their stuff but their communication/ shipping times are a bittt shifty!

Um. First, I just laughed hysterically that you said "happier than a fly in a poop barn" or whatever the word was. I frigging love you.

You crack me up. For real. I am glad you've had exceptional weather! We have too--for the most part--though it is supposed to snow tomorrow.

That is frustrating about the contact with the sponsor. But I do love the cape to pieces!

Goodness, this outfit is just so...so...happy! I saw the first photo and instantly smiled. The cheery yellow cape (that looks quite twirlicious indeed) and the adorable sparrow print make for a chipper outfit. Especially when toed off with Ali's signature bright socks! :D
Haha, and precious pecans...I'm telling you, you and your nicknames. They're the best.
Ugh, and wasps? Say it isn't so! I actually just made a late night drive in snow mixed in with rain, so winter hasn't quite let up on us Idaho residents, but next week we're suppose to hit 60 degrees. Woohoo! Time to break out the Nike shorts! ;)
Oh, and before I finish off this comment, PLEASE finish the lyrics for the new I Like Big Hats song! xD Hahahaha!

MUSTARD! freaking love mustard! the color AND the condiment. Umm, yes this outfit is pretty much the cutest thing I've seen in a while and that cape is superb! :) SUPERB! (umm, I may have had 4 glasses of white wine and am enjoying random capitalization of WORDS... just saying)

Hi Ali, You have selected the loveliest items from the store, can't believe it took that long to get to you, is that usually the shipping time? Nonetheless, the yellow cape is a stunner, that colour is beautifully striking and I am a huge fan of anything bird printed. Love that you added cute yellow socks in classic Ali style, makes you wonderfully unique! It was great hearing your opinion on my last post.

So cute! Love the cape, and the way you speak in writing. Very amusing.

The swing silhouette of that jacket is really refreshing; for some reason this outfit is making me look forward to summer, where I can slap on all the colors that I've been hiding away in my closet. For some reason, your blog loads much more slowly today?

Hi Ali. You are so lucky to receive this dress and cape. I must say I am particularly in love with the cape. This is something I have been looking for for ages. A yellow cape (or even coat) would be my dream piece. I am definitely off to check out this site right now.

Blarg, I have had a couple of companies do that and it is indeed quite aggravating. You got some great pieces out of the deal though! That dress is just the perfect print/length I love it! And I still have yet to own a cape...this yellow one has such a nice shape to it. And I love how you said it was addictively swingy, I often get dizzy when I wear certain pieces because I want to swing and twirl around in them!
And awww look at your pretty closeup! You have just the loveliest smile ever my dear.

I liked how you jumped into your dad's truck 007 style. Must have produced such a beautiful swing of mustard there along with a sesame seed of a button that dropped.

I had wanted to slowly drink up the latte and if the foam kitty was still intact by then, it would look like it had sunk into the abyss of the cup and that would be cute too. Too bad, the hubby had to destroy it. (T_T)

Thank you for your kind words, sweetie. I feel so much better reading all the kind and lovely words from all of you. =) I'm recovering slowly physically, left with the the occasional cough now.

BTW, I'm holding my 2nd blog giveaway and I'm inviting you, my lovely blog friend to join. There are Kimmidoll, L'Occitane, Crabtree n Evelyn and Fleurfaerie stuff to be won. Feel free to check it out and participate if keen. Have a lovely Sunday!
