Fairy It Out

Crown3

______When in doubt, ya'll, fairy it out. Studies have shown that fairying it out can pierce the sky with sunlight even on the dreariest of days. I don't care how cheesy it sounds or how many girls have audaciously plastered it on their fluffy, bedazzled fashion blogs, but it's true--a cute outfit with plenty of sparkles and heels just instantly boosts your mood. I'm embracing all things societally-deemed feminine both now and in the future.

______I'm finding this embrace of the fairy life odd because prior to a year ago, I used to shy away from the color pink, things with too much lace, and lipstick; looking back, spikes, studs, and black voids were in my wardrobe's vocabulary. But now I've reached a level of "@^&* it" and embraced the happy, girly things that I adored as a wee nugget. Cheesy nostalgia, here I come.

______Besides fairying it out, though, I'd say biking and baking make me happy, too. There's something about saving thousands of different chocolate chip cookie recipes I'll never get around to baking in my Safari's favorites that makes me content. One day I'm sure I'll go back through them, whip them up, and leave a tiny pile of flour in the southernmost corner of my mother's kitchen which prompts her tell me she never wants me to bake in her kitchen again. Then I'll send the completed goods to my brother who can eat as much as he wants and stay trim as a beanpole. But I'll be sure to eat the dough, because if something is unbaked, it doesn't have calories.

______Remember that. And if anyone tells you otherwise, use the chloroform on 'em.

______What's your go-to happy pill?

You make a perfect fairy. One of my little sisters, is, I'm sure, a fairy of the wood or a river nymph or something of the sort--she always has a somewhat ethereal, unhuman air about her, and I like that about her. Definitely wearing a quirky outfit that I feel completely "me" is an easy shortcut to happy days. :)

Totally with you on all accounts here--fairying (ps--thanks for making that a verb!), sparkles, baking and biking are all great happy pills. I would also say picnics but that is limited times here in CO. I love this cute boho look!

Thanks too btw for always saying really nice and supportive stuff on my blog. You always make me smile!

Ali, this look is absolutely ethereal! Your crown is beyond stunning, and I love the delicate details--the sparkles by your eyes, the gold earrings, the lace on the dress. You're a rockin fairy!

Biking, too, makes me happy--while I'm still, at heart, a runner, there's nothing like taking my bike for a spin on the gorgeous bike path near my school. It's freeing to get off campus for just a little bit and soak in twice as much scenery that I'd encounter if I were running instead.

Also, HUGE congrats on your first gallery show! What a major step. I can only imagine how hectic it was, but from your photos, it looks like you pulled it off beautifully. I'm always intrigued by your use of color and shape. Keep arting on, Ali!

Oh man, I love this look on you! You look perfectly ethereal. And fairying always makes me feel better, too (along with hot showers, pretty dresses and chocolate). <3

"When in Doubt, Fairy it Out" sounds like it needs to be put on a T-Shirt. Though, I guess wearing a t-shirt isn't fairying it out, going by your lovely outfit ;)

Surely there's a song with that line as a lyric, right? Because I need to find it if it exists and listen to it on repeat. That would be my happy pill lol

Love this magical fairying out that was captured Ali! the little shiny bedazzle at the corner of your eye was such a cute touch. AND GAH THAT FLOWER CROWN. Need I say more?

PS: You can also send cookies to me when this occurs. I may never be of bean pole status but I don't care. BECAUSE COOKIES <3

Loving this fair inspired look and it is awesome that you are no longer shying away from bolder colors. I still don't really wear anything bright, but it's because I just feel at home in black, haha. Love the flower crown as well and the cute makeup with the jewels. Really adds a magical feel to this look!

Um, you are perfection. I typically never like floral crowns, but you're killin' it. And isn't it funny how as teenagers the idea of being "girly" is the worst idea ever but the older we get the more girly we tend to be? It makes me laugh. Also jealous that it looks so stunning and beautiful in your state.
